Chobi Mela - not just for friends of photography
Since its founding in 2000, Chobi Mela, the international festival of photography, is the most significant event of its kind in Asia. The now tenth Biennale has become a highlight in the Asian cultural calendar and was created by Drik Picture Library Ltd. Organized by the Pathshala South Asian Media Institute and held February 28 through March 9, 2019.
Chobi Mela, the first festival of photography in Asia, is one of the most exciting things Drik and Pathshala have initiated. The first Chobi Mela - International Festival of Photography took place in December 2000. It is the world’s most demographic photographic festival and takes place every two years in Dhaka.
